3 best seafood restaurants in Kansas Hays

Cooking shrimps in a grill

Kansas Hays may be landlocked, but this city still manages to bring in fresh seafood for the enjoyment of those who live there.

Here are three of the best seafood restaurants in the northwestern Kansas area.

  1. Sake2me Sushi & Seafood Grille

Hailed as a culinary destination, Sake2me Sushi & Seafood Grille has earned rave reviews from first-time visitors and returning guests. The popular establishment is the brainchild of Mike Huskey, a sushi and seafood enthusiast who wanted to share his love for the food. His goal was to introduce unique seafood dishes to the Kansas Hays community and he did just that.

Along with the restaurant’s trademark seafood dishes and trendy sushi bar, Sake2me Sushi also serves fusion Asian cuisine. Some of its many bestsellers are their lobster mac and cheese, salmon burger, and Captain Crunch roll. Oysters, clams, and mussels are also a crowd favorite. The restaurant has a full-service bar with 12 craft beers on tap and a delivery service through Hays2Go.

Head on over to Sake2me Sushi and Seafood Grille on 2306 Vine Street Hays, Kansas for lunch, dinner, or drinks. The restaurant is open from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Mondays to Saturdays. You can find out more from their website here.

  2. A&W and Long John Silver’s

A&W and Long John Silver’s is a joint restaurant on Vine St. in Kansas Hays. These two popular American chains were sold to franchisees in 2011 and continue to operate across the United States. Long John Silver’s is known as the largest seafood chain in the nation while A&W is known for their all-American fast food menu. The restaurants have shared the same space since Long John Silver’s was remodeled in 2015 to accommodate both restaurants.

Dining in A&W and Long John Silver’s is a treat. Diners can choose from a superb seafood menu or a mouthwatering fast food menu. The popular seafood dishes from Long John Silver’s are the shrimp meal platters, baked cod meals, and crispy golden hushpuppies. A&W has a selection of juicy beef burgers and breaded chicken strips that go perfectly with their signature root beer float.

A&W and Long John Silver’s is conveniently located along Interstate 70. The restaurant is open every day from 10:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. You can visit the Long John Silver’s website and the A&W Restaurant website for more details.

  3. Hickok’s Steakhouse

Steak is not the only go-to meal in Hickok’s Steakhouse. Fresh seafood dishes are also served in this upscale restaurant. Hickok’s Steakhouse was named after Wild Bill Hickok, a former Ellis County sheriff who was a legend in his own time.

This newly established steakhouse serves only the best steaks, seafood, wine, and beer. Restaurant-goers can get their fill of delicious crab legs, salmon, and lobster dishes along with more than 100 wines. The most popular seafood dishes are their lobster bisque, King Crab legs, and seafood trio of lobster tail, scallops, and shrimps. The restaurant has two separate dining areas—one for open seating and one for private functions. The whole establishment can seat around 100 people.

You can find Hickok’s Steakhouse at 3402 Vine St. Hays, Kansas. The restaurant is open from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday until Sunday. You can read more about Wild Bill Hickok and their delectable menu on their website.
